Trip to Toluca Part I: Cosmovitral Jardín Botánico

Last Sunday I went to Toluca, the capital of Mexico state, with Ariana. We rode the bus there and it was quite pleasant. Got to drive through the mountains and see luscious, green pine trees. It was nice to get out of the city for a little while. It didn't take too long to get there, around 45 minutes or so. When we arrived, we had a coffee and some sweet bread (pan dulce-so good and so bad) then we got on another bus to get to el centro. The first place we went to was Cosmovitral Jardín Botánico. This place is completely awesome. It has a stained glass mural surrounding the building, as well as, the ceiling. At the time, there was a special exhibition of bonsai trees. It was only $10 pesos to enter.

This is the entrance outside of the building

Inside, I took muchas fotos.

One last photo

After Cosmovitral, we ventured over to this church, Iglesia del Carmen.

My next blog will continue on this daytrip. More photos of Iglesia del Carmen, a group of people giving out free hugs, some guards taking the mexican flag down, some lovely older ladies embarking on their pilgramage and other cool stuff.
